AFRIL: Action For Refugees In Lewisham
The Shared Chapter
Short documentary for AFRIL: Action For Refugees in Lewisham,
Action for Refugees in Lewisham (AFRIL) supports asylum seekers, refugees and vulnerable migrants in south-east London to overcome poverty, rebuild their lives and thrive in their communities. Through practical support, education and advocacy, the charity helps people build a more secure future.
Leaving everything behind takes unimaginable courage. This story celebrates the people, friendships and community that make a new place feel like home, and the charity AFRIL that helps make it possible.
“As a frontline organisation working alongside asylum seekers, refugees and migrants, our capacity is completely outstripped by need. This film has allowed us the opportunity to capture and communicate our impact, whilst simultaneously highlighting the strength, joy and solidarity of our members.”
Chloe White, CEO at AFRIL
